From the recording It's Plague Dad!
One of the first songs I wrote for Plague Dad, back in the dark days at the beginning of the pandemic. Still as relevant today as it was then!
Lyrics
We've all got cell phones
and I wish to Christ
that I didn't have mine.
But I need it for work.
Yeah, I need it for work.
Now we've all got laptops
'cause that's how we roll
in the world today.
Yeah, it's how we connect.
At least, that's what they say.
I live near the airport,
right under the flight path.
I hear the engines
and I see the planes.
I take my kids to the airport.
We look at the flights.
We talk about where we might go
to start a new life.
Now we've all got smart phones
and I wish to Christ
that I could slip the leash.
But I need it for work,
and I hate my job.
